Bow Summit, Banff National Park
(writing on front
of card)
In the summer
of 1996, there were several large forest fires that burned
for most of the summer in northern British Columbia and
Alberta. When the weather conditions were right, the
smoke came down into the Rockies and created the unique
'layered mountain' look that is captured in this image.
The photograph
was taken from the top of Bow Summit looking north towards
Saskatchewan Crossing.
