Located at the south
end of the Icefields Parkway, Herbert Lake has always caused me
great anxiety as a photographer.
On clear sunny
mornings when I embark up the Parkway intent on photographing this
scene or that one, I am almost always drawn in by the beauty of
Herbert Lake as I drive past it. I tell myself each and
every time that I already have this picture, in all seasons, in
all weather, but still, somehow, the location takes control and I
find myself photographing it for the umpteenth time. So now
I've finally decided to stop fighting it...why spoil a good thing,
after all?
