Mount Rundle and Vermilion Lakes, Banff National Park

This is one of the most famous winter scenes in the Canadian Rockies, featuring Mount Rundle and Vermilion Lakes photographed from the open waters of the mineral springs just past Second Vermilion Lake along Vermilion Lakes Drive.

Before I started photographing, I used to go down and sit on the banks of the springs every winter, looking out over this spectacular landscape. Nowadays, it's one of my favourite haunts to watch for wildlife and shoot spectacular winter scenics.
