Mount Rundle and Vermilion Lakes, Banff National Park

This is a famous winter scene in the Canadian Rockies.  Mount Rundle and the Vermilion Lakes photographed from the open waters of the mineral springs just past Second Vermilion Lake along Vermilion Lakes Drive.

Before I started photographing, I used to go down and sit on the banks of the springs every winter, looking out over this spectacular landscape.  Three years ago I decided to go do the same thing again, but about five minutes after sitting there I decided that it was just too nice to NOT take a photograph or two!  This is the result.
