Fiery Sunset, Jasper National Park

A spectacular fiery
sunset like this one in the Canadian Rockies is a rare sight.
Usually our mountains block out the final colourful rays of the
sun and the clouds fade into a peaceful quiet gray before
disappearing in the black of night.
However, once in a
while something happens up there in the atmosphere and we are
treated to sunsets that would make a prairie dweller go green with
envy. This image from along the banks of the Athabasca River
in Jasper is proof of that. Taken without any filters and
using only regular Fuji film, it is a vivid reminder of the most
dazzling sunset I have ever seen in the Rockies.
