During the spring
and summer of 2000, I went to Moraine Lake about fifteen times
trying to get a perfect reflection of the Valley of the Ten
Peaks in the lake. Moraine Lake is infamous for always
seeming to have a slight breeze blowing over it, and I was
constantly foiled, or so I thought. When I had one roll
of film developed from a shoot in late June, I was surprised
to find several nice shots in there that I couldn't even
remember taking. As it turned out, the reflection
wasn't quite what I had envisioned, but the overall image
conveyed the feeling that I had been looking for -- one of
beauty and tranquility.
